It is a natural fiber extracted from the outer husk of the coconut. Coir is the fibrous material found between the hard, internal shell and the outer coat of a coconut. The individual fiber cells are narrow and hollow, with thick walls made of cellulose and brown to dak brown in color. Fibers are typically 10 to 30 centimeters (4 to 12 inch) long
